Everyone that is a Christian needed the same answer you are looking for. You have come to realize that your life isn’t what it should be. There are things in your life that need to change but you cannot change them yourself.
There was a jailer (prison guard) in Bible times, whose life was in jeopardy on a day when all of his prisoners had escaped. In those times a jailer was accountable for each prisoner. If there was an escape, the jailer faced capital punishment. This jailor had to die. With nowhere else to turn, now concerned for his soul, he cried out to the Apostle Paul, “What must I do to be saved?” The answer was simply, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved.” Acts 16:30, 31
Who is Jesus?
The Bible teaches us that He, as the Son of God, is God come in the form of a man (Jesus is called “the Word” in the Bible).
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God… And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us…” John 1:1, 14
Why did Jesus come?
Because He loves you. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
He came to save you. “For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved” John 3:17
You can be the one that “might be saved” and can “have everlasting life”?
If you will Agree with God.
Agree with God that you are a sinner. “As it is written, there is none righteous, no not one… for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” Romans 3:10, 23
Agree with God that there is a penalty for sin. “For the wages of sin is death…” Romans 6:23a “And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire”. Revelation 20:14, 15
Agree with God that Jesus died in your place “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us”. Romans 5:8 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord”. Romans 6:23
If you believe His Word, call upon His Name
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved… For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved”. Romans 10:9, 13
A simple prayer of faith
Dear God, I have sinned against you. I now see my need of a Savior. I want to put my trust in Jesus Christ the Lord, Who died for me and then rose again. Please save me. Amen!
Now that you have been saved, you are Eternally Secure. Jesus said, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. I and my Father are one.” John 10: 27-30
